Surrendering to the greater forces of nature is one of the most humbling and guiding experiences I know.

Most of the time, I already know what I should be doing. The real question is whether I have the courage to do it. Even when following my path demands every ounce of energy I have, it almost always takes me exactly where I need to be.

Living on the ocean has made me stronger, wiser, and more humble. Life at sea is unlike anything else. Nothing is written. Every day is uncertain, and I am vulnerable to forces far greater than myself.

Learning to coexist with those forces—and to surrender to life rather than fight it—has been one of my greatest lessons. It has taught me to appreciate the gifts of both the sea and the land. It awakens me to a reality that is deeply connected to the natural world around us.

It isn't easy every day, but it is beautiful. And it is amazing to witness what this way of life does to me.
